Norovirus

Norovirus is a virus that causes the “stomach flu,” or vomiting and diarrhea, in people. Outbreaks occur as the virus is spread very easily from person to person. The illness is usually not very serious, but older people, children, or those with other medical issues may have serious complications that can result in hospitalization.

Training for preventing the spread of norovirus is available to restaurants, hotels, theaters, attractions, churches, and other groups in the community. For more information please contact Robert Niezgoda or Kim Foster at the Taney County Health Department.
